What People Say
Most Liked
The Hometown Dog Bar is celebrated for its standout smash burgers, which patrons rave about for their juicy and perfectly seasoned flavor. The authenticity of the Philly cheesesteak leaves customers coming back for more, proving to be a crowd favorite.
Another highlight is the house-made potato salad, a local treasure that has been described as some of the best around. Many appreciate the friendly service, often noting how the owner goes above and beyond to accommodate individual requests and make customers feel welcome. Regulars enjoy their leisurely lunch breaks, sharing good food and conversation, further enhancing the community vibe.

Most Disliked
While The Hometown Dog Bar has plenty of supporters, some patrons have noted that the limited seating can be a drawback during peak lunch hours. With a food truck setting, it might be challenging to find a spot to sit, especially on sunny days when many diners prefer outdoor seating.
A few customers have raised concerns about occasional wait times during busy periods, which can test the patience of those seeking a quick lunch. This is especially true when the truck draws in a crowd of regulars eager to grab their favorites. Some have humorously mentioned the odd spelling of 'kielbasa' on the menu, indicating a marketing quirk, but this has not detracted significantly from their overall experience.
Additionally, a couple of diners have expressed a desire for more vegetarian options on the menu. While the focus is heavily on American-style meats, accommodating diverse dietary preferences could enhance offerings further.

The owner is very kind. The hot dog was delicious. The potato salad was incredible and some of the best I’ve had. It is locally made. He makes the baked beans himself. He was nice enough to cut up my toddler’s hot dog to avoid chocking. He is opening up a food truck soon and looking forward to trying that. I will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed the shading spot to sit and eat as well. He does have regulars and I loved seeing him greet them by name.

My husband and I love grabbing a kielbasa from here for lunch when we’re off together on the weekends. Tracy is always so friendly and accommodating to whatever crazy toppings my husband is in the mood for. Affordable price and delicious! Highly recommend!

I had Brats both times and they were fantastic. I am from Wisconsin (Wausau) and for 20 minutes on a Saturday, in The Villages Florida, I felt like I was home!!!! Thank you! I gotta bust their chops about the misspelling of Kielbasa though. (I would be "dog-gone" mad if my menu designer spelled Kielbasa wrong on all my menus. Whatever happened to proofreading? Maybe it's a marketing ploy... spell it wrong to grab more attention to it?! Lol. No matter how they spell it, I've eaten there twice and both times the food and service was fantastic. The buns sold me, not soggy, and the perfect softness. Great Job!!! Love to see a small business succeeding.

I just left this place less than 5 minutes ago, and I have to say it's the best smash burger I've ever had. The meat is very juicy and well-seasoned. I highly recommend it.

Best hot dogs ever! Got the jumbo dog with peppers, onions and bacon crumbles. It came on a homemade roll that was out of this world. The bun was egg free which was awesome for people with an egg allergy. The owner was so nice and fast.
